Agriculture Teacher Needed for 2025-2026 School Year

  • St. Joseph High School seeks a full or part-time certified agriculture instructor for the 2025-2026 school year. The position is for an agriculture instructor full or part-time at a college preparatory high school on the beautiful and affordable Central Coast of California an hour north of Santa Barbara.
  • St. Joe’s is an archdiocesan secondary school with an enrollment of 500 students. Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement engaging, standards-based lessons in a variety of Ag education classes (i.e. Ag Leadership, Ag Sciences, Ag Business, etc)
  • Utilize effective teaching strategies and assessment methods to support student learning
  •  Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student growth
  • Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into lessons as appropriate
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing timely feedback and support
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and grades, in PowerSchool
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support student success
  • Participate in school-wide events, professional development, and faculty meetings
  • Uphold the mission, Catholic values, and educational philosophy of St. Joseph High School

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (in agriculture field or education preferred)
  • Single Subject Teaching credential in Agriculture
  • Ability to design and deliver lessons that challenge and engage students
  • Commitment to learning and implementing the Josephite charism and approach to education
  • Experience working with young people in a supervisory, coaching, and/or mentoring role
  • Desire to collaborate with others to support student learning

Wage Range (minimum to maximum):

  • $43,000 – $75,000 for 190 days/10 months (paid over 12 months)
  • Note: The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, and other department needs.
